Why families choose AchieveIt for primary school tutoring

Foundations that pay off in high school

Year 3–6 is where literacy and numeracy gaps form. Our tutors target the reading comprehension, writing and mental-maths skills that high school assumes, so students enter Year 7 ahead of the curve.

Selective & scholarship ready

For families targeting selective high schools or scholarship exams, our tutors build the comprehension, written expression and mathematical reasoning these assessments demand — alongside test technique and timing practice.

Engaging, age-appropriate sessions

Tutors are trained to keep younger students engaged: short focus blocks, game-style review, and parent updates after every session so you know exactly what's been covered.

Online from anywhere in Sydney

No commute, no last-minute scramble. Lessons run on Microsoft Teams from home, with recordings so students can review what was taught. Parents and students can both see progress notes in the portal.

Year 3–6 Tutoring FAQs

How much does Year 3–6 tutoring cost?

Year 3–6 sessions are $75 AUD per hour, or $675 for a 10-hour pack (10% saving). Packs expire 6 months from purchase. No joining fees.

Are sessions online or in person?

All AchieveIt sessions run online via Microsoft Teams. For primary-school students we keep cameras on and use shared digital whiteboards, and parents are welcome to sit in.

What subjects do you cover for Year 3–6?

English, Maths, Science and HSIE. We focus on building strong literacy and numeracy foundations — reading comprehension, written expression, narrative and persuasive writing, mental maths, number sense and problem-solving.

Do you help with homework, or is it separate from school?

Both. Tutors run their own structured lesson plans aligned with the NSW primary curriculum, and dedicate time each session to homework help or topics the student is working through at school.

Can you help with selective school or scholarship preparation?

Yes. We support families preparing for selective high school placement tests, scholarship exams and similar assessments. Sessions build the comprehension, written expression and mathematical reasoning these tests demand, plus test technique and timing practice.

How do you match primary-school students with tutors?

When you submit an enrolment enquiry we'll reply within 24 to 48 hours to arrange a consult. The consult lets us understand the student's goals, learning style and availability. We then send you bios of the tutors we think are the best fit, or you can browse our tutors page directly. If the fit isn't right you can always switch tutors.

Can a younger child still benefit if they're already doing well at school?

Yes. Many of our Year 3–6 students are top of their class and use sessions for enrichment, selective-school preparation, or extension beyond the standard curriculum.
