Ella Delaney
Introducing Ella Delaney, a third-year Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce student at the University of New South Wales, where she is also a member of the UNSW Elite Athlete Program, competing in inshore and offshore sailing predominantly out of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.
In January 2024, Ella founded AchieveIt Tutoring to support students who want to maximise their potential and achieve their academic goals. She now manages a team of 20 tutors working with students from Years 3 to 12 across both the HSC and IB pathways.
Alongside her tutoring, Ella joined the Cranbrook School coaching team in 2024. Before this, she coached sailing at both the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron and the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, where she was a member of the Youth Sailing Academy (YSA) Advanced Squad.
Having stepped back from the YSA, Ella is now concentrating on other pursuits, including advancing her goals for AchieveIt, while continuing to race offshore aboard a combination of Triton and Whistling Kite.
Ella has a strong personal interest in data modelling, business analysis, asset management, and mergers and acquisitions, particularly within the medical space. She is directly involved in the funding and formation of a new complex pain and physical rehabilitation clinic for teenagers at the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, with a view to expanding the service to hospitals throughout NSW.
Through her studies, Ella is building a solid grounding in both the theoretical and practical foundations of the major engineering disciplines, while recently specialising in her chosen field of bioinformatics. Bioinformatics engineers create the computational methods and software needed to handle the vast amounts of data generated in life-sciences research, drawing insights into biological systems and diseases and helping to develop new drugs and therapies. It is a skill set she plans to bring together with her Finance major.
Ella was also a co-convenor of the 2026 Youth Health Conference, led by the Australian Association for Adolescent Health. The conference brought together young people, healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers and advocates to help shape better health outcomes for future generations, placing young people at the heart of the conversation.
Working alongside world-leading healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers and passionate advocates, the conference reimagined what investing in youth truly means. From groundbreaking research to innovative strategies, it served as a catalyst for lasting intergenerational change, with participants shaping policies, sharing solutions and building a roadmap for a healthier, more equitable world.
Most recently, Ella began working at Children's Cancer Institute Australia as a Computational Biology Intern, contributing to curation on the Zero Childhood Cancer project.
At AchieveIt, Ella predominantly tutors mathematics at all levels and looks forward to helping you achieve your academic goals.
