With the Winter months approaching we are experiencing greater levels of illness and last-minute cancellations. To ensure fairness and respect to both you and your tutor a cancellation policy will respectfully apply to all sessions commencing 5 July 2024. For your tutor, the session begins prior to the start of the session with your child; they spend time before the session preparing and planning to maximise the value they can bring to your child, therefore by providing adequate notice of changes and cancellations they will feel valued and appreciated.
If you are unable to attend a session, you must notify your tutor as soon as possible, no later than 24 hours before the scheduled session. You can then reschedule your session for a different time prior to your next session at no penalty to yourself or inconvenience to your tutor.
If notice is given less than 24 hours but more than 8 hours you will be charged 50% of the lesson fee.
If notice of a cancellation is not given at least 8 hours before the scheduled session time, you will be charged the full lesson fee.
We understand that in many situations this might be unavoidable – your child may leave school sick or there may be a sudden emergency. In this situation, please contact your tutor directly as soon as possible. Whilst they still maintain the right to charge you for the session, in most cases, they will be happy just to reschedule for another time that week.
Please note: If notice is not given, resulting in a no show, you will be charged the full amount for that session.
If you are going away for an extended period, please let both me (by emailing info@achieveittutor.com) and your tutor know at least 2 weeks in advance. Similarly, if your tutor is going away for more than 2 weeks, they will let us know and we will organise a replacement tutor for your child for the period.
Of course, there are times when the reciprocate may occur and your tutor may either fall ill last minute or have their own emergency. If this occurs, we will offer to provide a substitute tutor for you for that session. If you have a preference to remain with the same tutor, a make-up session time can be scheduled for a later date. It's up to you – you can nominate which you prefer on the day.
If you no longer require tuition from your tutor, please let us know (by emailing info@achieveittutor.com) 2 weeks ahead of your proposed final session. We can advise your tutor on your behalf.
This policy is effective as of 5 July 2024.
