Levi Smallcombe

Hi, I'm Levi! I'm currently a 2nd-year Biomedical Science student at the University of Newcastle majoring in Neuroscience and Pathophysiology.

I graduated from school aged 14 via Special Pathways and Programs for accelerated and gifted learning across both High School and Homeschooling, and as such am both very familiar and suited for not only individuals with gifted or accelerated needs, but also students seeking early and alternate entry pathways in Tertiary studies. I currently also work as a Mentor in Programs for Exceptionally and Profoundly Gifted students.

During my Schooling, I studied through alternate entry pathways (due to my age upon graduation) primarily in areas such as Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Ext 2 Maths, Ext 2 English, Ancient History, Art and French. Partnering this knowledge with further University studies in biomedical/medical sciences and research has given me great insight into effective study strategies for memorisation and application, concept familiarity, problem-solving, understanding and fluency. This ability to dissect and fundamentally understand concepts that range from the easy to the seemingly near impossible has always been a love and draw of mine into both Medicine/Medical Sciences and Mathematics, and is something I carry through in my tutoring for all students.

Outside of all the Academics, I passionately enjoy Arts such as Music, Creative and Philosophical Writing and Surrealist Art, alongside Gym and Language studies, and am still actively involved in self-study for Chemistry and Maths research.
